SRO Bri visited with MPP after school students Thursday. She shared about the training required to become a police officer, her uniform, and safety tips. Students were able to view some of her tools and explore her cruiser.

8th Grade Student: Dallas
Dallas came to RCES as a 6th grader. The growth in maturity he has shown is unmatched. He goes out of his way to help others - students and adults. He has taken it upon himself to clean his homeroom in the afternoons.
Dallas is diligently studying for his upcoming permit test whenever he has a spare moment. Wish him luck!

D.J. Sliger attended RCES from 1992-2000. He was part of the first kindergarten class to complete k-8th grade in the new school. He played varsity basketball throughout his time in middle school.
As an 8th grader, D.J. had a terrible 4 wheeler accident and lost his leg. He is still appreciative of the way Rogers Creek School and the community rallied around him.
He now serves his community as a traveling preacher and hosts a Christian podcast with his wife. They are opening a candle business called Heavenly Aroma as well.
His son, Deklan, is a third grader at RCES.

She has been married to her husband for 10 years and we have 3 kids. She is also currently battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

I am Destaney Martin, and I am a School-Based Behavioral Health Liaison with Helen Ross McNabb. My role at the school is to provide various levels of support to both students and staff. Some of the different ways I can offer support are through individual or family therapy, group education, and teacher trainings.
For just a little bit about me, I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2023 with my Master of Social Work. I previously worked in the mental/behavioral health field for 3 years before starting with McNabb. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and crocheting.
I am excited for the opportunity to be at Rogers Creek and work alongside everyone!
